The Speaking Calendar displays the current date and time in a large and easy-to-read fashion. With a simple tap on any spot of the display, the speech function is activated and a friendly voice reads out upcoming holidays, birthdays and the calendar entries of the coming days in addition to the date - no more missed birthdays, doctors appointments, etc.!
So: As a person affected, show your visual impairment the red card and provide yourself with the necessary temporal orientation at any time. As a loved one, take the opportunity to give someone close to you a special gift that is also suitable for everyday use. Dig out your old iPads and install the app. The app is easy for anyone to use and is suitable not only for people with visual impairments, but also for people with dementia.
You can make the following settings:
- Selection of calendars whose appointments should be announced in advance. Both local and shared calendars can be used.
- Number of days for which the appointments should be announced in advance. (via settings)
- Enable/disable calendar selection in the app (via settings).
- Activation/deactivation of the announcement of the time (via settings).
- Use of the apps own font size or system font size and thus the iOS accessibility settings (via settings).
Speaking Calendar can be used in the so-called guided access mode.
An internet connection is recommended for using shared calendars.
